In my new amp a 1967 traynor ygm 1 guitarmate i tried.
Weber blue dog 15 ceramic.
I like the 30 watt blue dogs more than the 50 and the 15 watt versions.
Bright clear big natural low end lots of chime and ring detail that doesn t get hard or harsh at high volumes more headroom than the alnico version.
It s got that nice woody kind of structure to the mids and its way clearer and more defined compared to the.
When i ran a 50 watt head tube rectified traynor bassmaster i also had a 2x12 cab loaded with a weber blue alnico and ceramic speaker.
Got the 100 watt speaker and the clarity and warmth cannot be touched without a weber hemp speaker.
The rig was too much amp so i switched to a 1x12 combo but could never quite get the sound i wanted.
Best balance of everything imo.
Paper or hemp weber speakers are the best.
Cranked 1975 fender deluxe reverb with weber blue dog speaker.
Classic vox blue tone with ceramic punch and big low end.
Great low end from the silver bell while retaining clarity and definition from the blue dog.
I ve had otherwise identical versions of the 15 30 and 50 watt alnico blue dogs but not the ceramic.
15 40oz boosted alnico magnet 50 watts 1 3 4 voice coil ribbed cone.
15 50oz ceramic magnet 50 watts 1 3 4 voice coil ribbed cone.
Bright big natural bottom clear lots of british chime and ring compresses fattens at high volumes.
Both are loud speakers the legend has really big bass and kind of softer mids but the blue dog really has the mids to cut through.
Or a pair of each in a 4 12.
I ve got a legend 151 and a weber ceramic blue dog 15 and i guess the biggest difference is in the mids.
Paper reproduces but hemp fibers sing.
4 75 no cover 5 375 with cover cutout size.
The blue dog hemp cone was to replace a cannabis rex speaker in my hrdlll amp.
Try pairing this with a silver bell in a 2 12 combination.
The 30 is smoother than the 15.
Also available with weber s hemp cone which is a smoother darker tone with less attack great for taming treble.
The 30 watters seem to be livelier louder and more interesting sounding to my ear than the 50.
